India will take on New Zealand in a three-match ODI series from November 25. Shikhar Dhawan is the captain of the side in Rohit Sharma’s absence. Meanwhile, former New Zealand player and one of the best batters, Ross Taylor, said New Zealand have an advantage over the Men in Blue in the ODIs.
He said the Kiwis have performed well in the 50-over format over the years. Taylor also pointed out how New Zealand returned after losing the T20I series during India’s visit in 2020. The hosts had won the ODI series 3-0 after surrendering in the shortest format.
“New Zealand will start as favorites at home. They know this format well. But they are up against a young and exciting Indian team. When India beat us 5-0 in the T20Is a few years ago, we won the ODIs 3-0,” he said.
“New Zealand have been phenomenal in the 50-over format. This is a big series for the home players. We haven’t played a lot of ODIs recently, and we normally perform well in this version.”
