The fans were chanting RCB RCB after seeing Virat Kohli in the dressing room, which didn't go down well with Kohli

Ahead of the Asia Cup opener against Pakistan, former India skipper Virat Kohli opened up on his recent struggles with the bat and the flurry of emotions that kicked in with it.

The 33-year-old talked about his recent hiatus from cricket and admitted being physically and mentally tired. He even talked about how he faked his intensity for the game.

Virat is one of the most aggressive players in the team who loves to play in front of a full house. Virat admitted getting pumped up and motivated by his surroundings, especially listening to the national anthem.

In one of his most candid conversations with Star Sports, the right-handed batsman talked about the importance of the national anthem before a game. He revisited the 2011 World Cup, his first exposure to a major ICC event.

He revealed that he always gets goosebumps listening to the national anthem when the full stadium sings it along.

“The 2011 World Cup was the first big tournament for me. It was in India, and when the national anthem was played before the match, the full stadium joined and sang along. I never experienced the same sense of unity before. I had goosebumps all over.”

“Everyone sings it along with you, and they have just one goal which is to India for win.”
