Sandeep Lamichhane to miss Asia Cup 2023 because of his legal situation

Famous Nepal cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane is ready to face the rape charges against him. He will surrender himself to the police on October 6.

Sandeep has been declared a fugitive by the Kathmandu District Court after a minor accused him of rape. The probing authorities had urged Interpol to issue a notice against the player.

Acting on the request, the International Criminal Police Organization issues a diffusion notice against him.

Lamichhane pleaded his innocence to the fans on Facebook and will fight a legal battle against the false charges.

“I am reaching Nepal on October 6, 2022, and will surrender to the authority. I will fight a legal battle against the false allegation,” Lamichhane wrote on his verified Facebook page.

The former captain of the Nepal Cricket team said he has faith in the judiciary.

“My dear well-wishers, I assure you that I am innocent and have not wronged you. I have recovered from the unpleasant situation I went through, and I have prepared myself to go through this ordeal to prove myself innocent and a victim of a conspiracy. I am sure all wrongful allegations charged against me will be unfolded in the span of time.”

“I hereby reiterate that I am INNOCENT and have complete non-shaken faith in the justice system. I firmly believe in all the law enforcement authorities and honorable courts for their fair trial and adjudication and am just hoping to get justice at the earliest,” said Lamichhane.
