New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham gave an autographed jersey to Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, but with a hilarious message, following the conclusion of the five-match T20I series between the Trans-Tasman rivals.
A spirited Australian team, after losting the first two T20Is by heavy margins, stormed back to level the series and force a decider. However, the visitors were completely outplayed by the hosts in the fifth T20I in Mount Maunganui.
Batting first, Australia could only manage to stitch a total of 142/8 in the alotted 20 overs. While Matthew Wade top-scored with 42, skipper Aaron Finch also played a gutsy knock of 36.
For the Kiwis, Ish Sodhi returned figures of 3 for 24 from his share of overs. In reply, New Zealand chased down the total with more than four overs remaining and seal the series 3-1.
Though Maxwell and the rest of the Australian players must be gutted after the narrow defeat, Neesham made sure his former IPL teammate heads home with a smile on his face.

In the third T20I last week, Maxwell had taken Neesham to the cleaners. In the 17th over of Australia’s innings, Maxwell smashed 28 runs from Nessham’s over, including 2 sixes and 4 boundaries.
Neesham had ended the game with figures of 0 for 60 as Australia won the game with sheer ease. Taking cognizance from the same, Neesham wrote: “To Maxi, 4, 6, 4, 4, 4, 6, Neesh ❤️.”
