Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik on Friday took to his official Twitter handle and paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Malik Faqir Hussain.
The 39-year-old recently visited his father’s grave and shared a picture of the same on the micro-blogging platform.
Captioning the post, Malik wrote, “My father, my hero, my shining star, wish you were here with me. Miss you Abbu Jaan. Your son.”
On the match front, the veteran batsman was last seen in action during the sixth edition of the Pakistan Super League. Malik’s PSL franchise, Peshawar Zalmi successfully reached the final of PSL 2021 against Multan Sultans at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
However, the Kamran Akmal-led side lost the all-important clash to Multan Sultans by 47 runs.
It was Sohaib Maqsood who stood out with the bat for the Multan-based franchise in the finale. The 34-year-old scored an unbeaten 65 runs off just 35 balls with the help of 6 boundaries and 3 sixes.
Riding on the back of Maqsood’s brilliant innings, Sultans posted a challenging total of 206 runs against Peshawar Zalmi.
