Ishan Kishan is one of the best young batters in India. Ishan became the talk of the town when he hit a double hundred in the third and final ODI against Bangladesh. He has been included in the squad for the first two Tests against Australia.
He spoke about his idol MS Dhoni ahead of the first T20I against New Zealand. Ishan grew up idolising the former India captain and has been trying to fill his shoes since he started playing cricket.
“MS Dhoni was my idol, and I really wanted to fill his shoes. I will make sure to win matches for my team,” he said.
Kishan revealed that he has an autograph of MS Dhoni on one of his bats.
“I was 18 years old when I met MS Dhoni for the first time. I took his autograph on my bat,” he added.
Ishan further said that he started thinking about becoming a professional cricketer at the age of 14. He is backing himself ahead of the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand.
