Former India fast bowler and 2011 World Cup winner, Munaf Patel, has landed in trouble. The Gautam Buddh Nagar administration seized his two bank accounts after receiving a recovery notice from UP RERA.

The accounts had an amount of INR 52 Lakh, which would be distributed among the people who invested their money in Nivas Promoters Private Limited. Munaf is the director of the alleged firm.

District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar Suhas Lalinakere Yathiraj said that action had been taken on the recommendation of UP RERA. The administration is trying its best to recover the remaining amount as well.

“In Greater Noida’s sector 10, Nivas Promoters Private Limited was constructing One Leaf Troy, a residential project. A lot of people had bought homes but didn’t get the delivery. They approached UP RERA with their complaints, and the body issued notice against the builder,” he said.

The local administration has to recover INR 10 crore.

“We tried to recover the amount from the builder, but they didn’t pay anything. In the end, we have to take action against Munaf Patel, the company’s director. We have seized his two accounts in Noida and Gujarat,” he added.
