Kamalini and left-arm spinner Vaishnavi have made it to the ODI team for the upcoming matches against Australia.

Mumbai Indians (MI) wicketkeeper-batter G Kamalini will take no further part in the remaining matches of the WPL 2026 due to an injury, with the defending champions signing Vaishnavi Sharma as a replacement. Kamalini, who is 17-year-old, represented MI in five matches in the ongoing season.

“Mumbai Indians (MI) picked Vaishnavi Sharma as a replacement for G Kamalini for the remainder of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026. Vaishnavi Sharma will join MI for Rs 30 Lakh,” WPL said in a release.

Vaishnavi was a part of India’s ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup squad last year and has played 5 T20Is for the Women in Blue, taking five wickets.

MI have registered two wins in five games in their WPL 2026 campaign. Despite losing two consecutive matches to UP Warriorz, the two-time champions are second in the points table due to their net run rate. With three contests remaining before the playoff stage, Mumbai need to get their act right to make it to the next round of the league. They will take on the Delhi Capitals at the BCA Stadium, Kotambi, on January 20.
