Australian fast bowler Jason Behrendorff on November 12 was traded from Royal Challengers Bangalore to Mumbai Indians for IPL 2023. The left-arm pacer was bought by RCB during the mega IPL auction in 2022 for his base price of INR 75 lakh.
Jason Behrendorff was a part of the five-time champions in 2018, playing 5 contests and taking as many wickets. He has represented Australia in 9 T20Is, dismissing 7 batters with a best performance of 4/21.
Rohit Sharma’s team has Jasprit Bumrah and Jofra Archer and the addition of Jason will make their fast bowling more lethal.
Earlier, MI hired former South Africa player Mark Boucher as their head coach.
“It is an honour for me to work for a big IPL franchise. They have won 5 IPL titles and are one of the most successful teams in the world of sports. I look forward to adding more value to this dynamic team,” he had said.
Mumbai Indians finished last in IPL 2022.
