The Mumbai Indians were unstoppable against the Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League 2026. The defending champions defeated DC by 50 runs in their second match of the season. Chasing 196, the Capitals were dismissed for 145 runs in 19 overs. Nicola Carey and Amelia Kerr were instrumental in the success of their franchise, taking three wickets each. Nat Sciver-Brunt also got rid of two batters.
However, it was Shabnim Ismail who bowled the best spell of the match, conceding just 14 runs from her four overs, which included 1 wicket as well. Chinelle Henry was the only batter who looked in delicate touch for Delhi, amassing a fifty. New captain Jemimah Rodrigues was clueless and posted just 1 run.
Earlier, Mumbai lost their second consecutive toss, but they corrected their mistakes from the first match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The batters played smartly and led the team to a winning total.
Harmanpreet Kaur was the best of the lot, accumulating an unbeaten 74 runs off 42 deliveries, including 8 fours and 3 sixes.
Nat Sciver-Brunt was also impressive with the bat, scoring 70 runs in 46 balls, packed with 13 boundaries. All the Delhi bowlers were expensive, with Nandani Sharma taking two wickets. Chinelle Henry and Shree Charani also added one wicket each to their spells.
