Mumbai Indians had the perfect game against Royal Challengers Bangalore in WPL 2024. The defending champions register a 7-wicket win over the Bangalore-based franchise on Saturday. This was Mumbai’s third win in four games, and they are now back at the top of the points table.
The Mumbai bowlers bowled disciplined line and length and didn’t allow the rivals to break free, restricting RCB to 131 in 20 overs. Mumbai batters came out with an aggressive intent to register an easy victory in 15.1 overs.
Yastika Bhatia (31 off 15) and Hayley Matthews (26 off 21) were sensational as openers.
Mumbai Indians captain Harmanpreet Kaur missed the second consecutive game, but this didn’t impact MI. Satnd-in captain Nat Sciver-Brunt was spot on with her moves.
Meanwhile, RCB has lost back-to-back games in WPL 2024. In the previous match, RCB failed against Delhi Capitals.
No sixes in a RCB vs MI match
The RCB innings didn’t see any six despite the presence of Smriti Mandhana, Sophie Devine, Sabbhineni Meghana, Ellyse Perry, Richa Ghosh and Georgia Wareham.
RCB lost four wickets quickly, with Mandhana, Devine, and Richa Gosh failing to reach the double-digit mark. Ellyse Perry (44* off 38) and Georgia Wareham (27 off 20) took the score above the 100-run mark.
Pooja Vastrakar and Nat Sciver-Brunt took two wickets each for Mumbai.
