Dhoni is currently in his home town and is spending some quality time with his friends and family after announcing his retirement from international cricket, last year in August.
The 39-year-old had decided to skip the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy despite having a poor IPL 2020 last year in the UAE. He, however, will lead Chennai Super Kings in the upcoming IPL 2021.
MS Dhoni, who often visits the Dewri Temple to offer his prayers, continued the trend this year as well. As per the Telegraph, he had visited the temple with his childhood friend Simat Lohani aka Chittu.
Heavy security was deployed in the area to facilitate Dhoni’s visit as fans gathered in large numbers to catch a glimpse of him. In fact, Dhoni also obliged to selfie and autograph requests.
As far as CSK are concerned, the franchise acquired the services of England all-rounder Moeen Ali (INR 7 crore) and uncapped Indian all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham (9.25 crore) at the IPL 2021 auction, last week.
Cheteshwar Pujara has also been roped for INR 50 lakh apart from a few more uncapped Indian players. Also, Suresh Raina will return to the side, having missed IPL 2020 due to personal reasons.
It will be interesting to see how CSK will line up for the upcoming season.
