Former South Africa captain Graeme Smith has commented on MS Dhoni’s presence in the SA20 league. The new league with six franchises started on January 10.
All the owners of the teams also own outfits in the Indian Premier League. Many players in the IPL represent their sister franchises in the ongoing SA20. However, there is no Indian cricketer who is a part of the tournament.
Admitting that Dhoni would bring immense value to the competition, SA 20 League Commissioner Smith told the Hindustan Times:
“MS Dhoni would add a lot of value to the tournament. He has been a top performer and would bring a level to the league, which I will be proud to have. I will reach out to him if there is ever an opportunity.”
The champion player is preparing for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. He leads the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), whose sister team, the Joburg Super Kings (JSK), are last in the points table in South Africa.
