Mohammed Shami is currently away from cricket. He was not considered for the upcoming Asia Cup 2022 in the UAE. However, his estranged wife Hasin Jahan is hogging the limelight these days.
Hasin has shared a video on her Instagram handle in which she has made an appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
She wants the government to change India’s name. “Our country, our pride. I love Bharat. I request our Prime Minister and Home Minister to change India’s name to Bharat or Hindustan and the world must know us by this name and not India,” she wrote.
Shami and Hasin are not in talking terms after the latter accused the fast bowler of domestic violence and match fixing. His central contract was put on hold buy the BCCI but the probe against him cleared him of fixing charges.
