Mohammed Shami’s line and length in the first ODI against Australia were brilliant. The speedster took three wickets to help the Men in Blue bowl out the rivals on a score of 188. Murali Karthik, one of the commentators, asked Shami why he did not get his full quota of 10 overs.
Shami bowled 6 overs and conceded 17 runs, with Mohammed Siraj also taking three key wickets. Ravindra Jadeja accumulated 2 scalps.
“You didn’t ask Hardik Pandya to give you 10 overs,” asked Murali Karthik.
“Everyone deserves to bowl; it is an important year for us. I was satisfied with my number of overs and happy that others also got equal opportunities,” he said.
Shami also talked about his brilliant performance. “The bowl was doing a bit, and I kept the ball in the right areas.”
