Mohammad Rizwan has claimed that players from both India and Pakistan want to play with each other.

Mohammad Rizwan was in the news when he referred Virat Kohli as ‘Our Kohli’. His statement was welcomed with delight by the internet as it bridges the gap between the two nations.

He even referred cricketing fraternity as one big unit. “We are like a family. ‘If I say ‘our Virat Kohli’, then I am not be wrong. Or ‘our Pujara’, ‘our Smith’ or ‘our Root’, because we all are one family.”

In his recent interview to Cricket Baaz, Rizwan clarified the reason behind calling Virat ‘our Kohli’.

Rizwan recalled his meeting with the 33-year-old during Pakistan’s match against India in the last edition of the ICC T20 World Cup in UAE. The Men in Green won the one-sided affair by 10 wickets. “It was my first meeting with Kohli. I had heard a lot of things about him from other players that he is aggressive and all. But the way he met me before and after the match was amazing. Virat was different from what others had told me about him.”

India and Pakistan haven’t played bilateral matches for long. The players only meet each other in the ICC tournaments and Asia Cup. Rizwan and other players also spoke to MS Dhoni and the conversation was full of love and affection.
