Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals have retained four players each for IPL 2022. The five-time champions have retained Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav and Kieron Pollard for the 15th season of the tournament.
The white-ball captain of West Indies, Pollard, will be paid INR 6 crore for his re-signing. In 178 matches for Mumbai, he has amassed 3268 runs at a strike rate of 149.77, including 16 fifties. The 34-year old has taken 65 wickets as well. He has been a key figure in MI’s success.
Mohammad Kaif stated that Pollard has come cheaply considering his track record in the cash-rich league. “He is a legend in the Indian Premier League and Mumbai Indians have made a very smart move by retaining him for INR 6 crore. Pollard has come at a very low price,” he said.
