Legnadry Pakistan player Mohammad Hafeez was a part of the international set-up for years. He saw India led by Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli. Hafeez recently spoke to the Hindustan Times and compared the captaincy of three legends.
He lauded Ganguly for making the team believe that winning against any team was not difficult.
“Sourav Ganguly brought the feeling of competitiveness among the Indian players. Pakistan had the team that won in overseas conditions, but India were lacking before Ganguly. The feeling to become world beaters came in his era,” said Hafeez.
He then spoke about Dhoni and his success. “Dhoni took forward from Sourav and won World Cups and other ICC titles. He was an inspirational leader for the team,” he added.
Hafeez concluded that Virat took Dhoni’s legacy forward, and the team became one of the best-performing teams under his captaincy.
