Royal Challengers Bangalore have started their preparations for the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League. RCB’s Director of Cricket Operation Mike Hesson recently revealed that the team will begin its training camp on March 29 in Chennai.
The Bangalore-based franchise on Wednesday took to its official Twitter handle and posted a video in which former New Zealand cricketer shared the details about the arrival of overseas players ahead of the upcoming edition.
Hesson has said that the South African legend and RCB stalwart, AB de Villiers will be arriving in India on March 28.
“We have got players arriving all the way through to 1st April, which is where we get the NOCs for some of our overseas players. Finn Allen is playing T20s in New Zealand till April 1 and he will be coming the day after. Aussies play until the 31st, the likes of Daniel Sams, Kane Richardson then jump on a plane and come. AB de Villiers arrives on 28,” the 46-year-old said in a video.
The Virat Kohli-led side will lock horns with the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the tournament opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 9.
RCB had a memorable outing last year in the UAE as they successfully made it to the playoffs.
However, Kohli & Co. once again missed their maiden IPL title by a whisker as they were defeated by David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator.
