Overview:
Australia dominated the five-Test series, cruising to a 4-0 victory, a result that ultimately led to Joe Root's exit as England’s Test captain.
Michael Vaughan was trolled on social media after comparing the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and the Ashes. While praising the recent competitiveness between India and Australia, the ex-England captain insisted the Ashes still holds a special place in cricket.
Vaughan argued that while India vs Australia Tests generate huge interest, they still fall short of the anticipation and intensity that define cricket’s oldest rivalry: England versus Australia.
“No question the India v Aussie series of late down under have been more competitive, but don’t tell me they are bigger than Ashes. The build-up down in Oz for this Ashes is absolutely huge. You don’t get that for an IND v Oz series,” Vaughan posted on “X”.

lol it’s been 15 years since England won a test in Australia. In between England was once whitewashed, and barely managed to avert two more whitewashes. This is not competition. #TheAshes https://t.co/BbWlbYhHBh

BGT's viewership was the most and no ashes can match that because of the competitive games bgt has given in recent past and also if you ask cricket aus which series they would prefer from financial point of view they will go with bgt everytime it's just ashes is too overrated

India has been much more competitive IN AUSTRALIA than England has during the last 3-4 times each team has toured for the tests. So by that measure you’d say an India test tour would have more anticipation currently.

In game of cricket whichever is played in competitive way will be attractive!
In that case ; IndVsEng Test was most competitive in recent past. #ICCWomensWorldCup knockouts were really engaging! https://t.co/JmjpeYA9jO
When did England compete with Australia in Australia? https://t.co/ltsaEzcBVk
