Former England player Michael Vaughan has predicted Jos Buttler’s rise to limited-overs captaincy. In his column for The Telegraph, he has backed Buttler to replace Morgan.
“I think he is very close to becoming white-ball captain. If Eoin Morgan finds form in summer, keep him as captain otherwise replace him with Buttler for the T20 World Cup.”
Morgan has struggled in the last few months. He accumulated 68 runs in six games in the ICC World T20 Cup, where England’s exit from the semi-final has put his future under the spotlight.
