Umran Malik has become a big name since his 22 wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League. The speedster is celebrating his 23rd birthday on November 22, Tuesday.
He is part of the squad for the New Zealand tour but was not included in the side for the second T20I, which India won by 65 runs.
He was fast-tracked into the national side but was dropped after a couple of games.
Many experts felt that his absence from the ICC T20 World Cup team impacted the Men in Blue.
Rectifying their mistake, he was given another chance in the ongoing tour. Meanwhile, Irfan Pathan, who was a coach and mentor of Jammu & Kashmir, played some part in Malik’s career.
The veteran took to social media to wish the young Malik on his birthday.
“Wishing the young speedster @umran_malik_01 a very happy birthday. May you break many stumps,” he wrote.
