Gautam Gambhir is one of the sharpest minds in Indian cricket. He led Kolkata Knight Riders to two IPL titles under his captaincy and has backed several young players during his playing days.
The two-time world champion is currently associated with Lucknow Super Giants as a mentor and has added match-winning players to the team in IPL auctions.
Gambhir doesn’t mince his words and has slammed the current superstars of the Indian team for their poor performances.
In his recent statement, he spoke against giving breaks to the leading players until the ICC ODI World Cup in 2023.
He wants the core team to play all the ODIs. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj are likely to represent the Men in Blue in the global event.
Reacting to his statement, several fans demanded to appoint Gambhir as coach and selector of the Indian national cricket team.
