Lucknow Super Giants’ have been ordinary in some of the game of the Indian Premier League 2024. The latest game against Sunrisers Hyderabad was by far the worst of the 17th season for the top franchise. Sanjiv Goenka, who owns the Lucknow-based team, gave a proper scolding to captain KL Rahul.

In a viral video, the owner can be seen taking angrily to the opening batter. Sanjiv was pointing out to something which he didn’t like in the match. Rahul had no choice but to listen to him calmly as he had a bad day at the office.

The 10-wicket loss has not only impacted their net run-rate but also put them in to a corner in the playoff race. LSG will have to win their remaining two contests to stand a chance to play in the next round.

With 12 points from 12 matches, Lucknow are not guaranteed a spot in the playoffs.

Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first on a track that looked slow. Rahul and Krunal Pandya added 27 runs in the powerplay overs after losing Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis.

Despite late hitting by Ayush Badoni (55) and Marcus Stoinis (48), the Giants put up just 165/4 in 20 overs.

Travis Head (89 not out), and Abhishek Sharma (75 not out) took the team to a win in 9.4 overs.
