England fast bowler Mark Wood has been ruled out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 due to an elbow injury. The pacer was due to play for Lucknow Super Giants but he picked up an injury during the first Test against England.

As per a report in ESPNCricinfo, England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has informed the Lucknow franchise about their player’s injury. The franchise will seek his replacement but they haven’t finalized the name yet.

Wood has featured in just one IPL match so far. He was a part of Chennai Super Kings in 2018. Having established himself as one of the finest bowlers in white-ball cricket, the management was excited to have him for the upcoming season.

It was clear that he would miss the start of the cash-rich league, considering his latest injury setback. It has now been learned that he wouldn’t be able to participate in the entire season.
