Praising Virat Kohli for his performances, Shoaib Akhtar said the former captain led India to victories against big teams.
“His 40 hundreds came in run chases, which is extraordinary. Log kehte hain tum Virat ki bohot tareef karte ho, main kehta hu kaise naa karu? India won a lot of games because of Vira Kohli’s hundreds,” he said.
Kohli is currently playing in the ongoing four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. He hasn’t enjoyed a great run with the bat, registering a highest score of 44 from five innings.
The 34-year-old has had a torrid time in Test cricket for a long time. His last half-century in the format came in January 2022 against South Africa in Cape Town.
Meanwhile, in 664 matches, Sachin Tendulkar accumulated 34357 runs. Kohli has so far scored 25047 runs in 493 matches.
