Sunil Chhetri was also present during the event and wore a jersey similar to Barcelona, Messi’s former football club, with No.10 and the name of a global star written on it.
Messi landed in Mumbai after completing two legs of his tour in Kolkata and Hyderabad. He unveiled his 70-ft statue in Lake Town, Kolkata, but the event was marred by fans’ anger and chaos at the venue.
