Former India captain Kapil Dev on Sunday reacted to reports of him joining the Aam Aadmi Party.

Indian legend and World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev has said that the Indian government should decide on the resumption of the cricket series between India and Pakistan. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) head Ramiz Raja has made several attempts to play a series against India, but the plans have not materialized.

The arch-rivals have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13. The Men in Blue last faced Pakistan in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, in which the Men in Green scripted a memorable victory over India by 10 wickets.

Answering journalists in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, the World Cup-winning captain said that players are always ready for the Indo-Pak matches, but we should leave the decision to the government.

“Only they can decide,” he said. We should stand with

government’s policy,” Kapil said according to the Times of India. The national team will play Pakistan in a group stage match of the ICC T20 World Cup tournament on October 23 (Sunday) at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
