Despite the recent failures, Ganguly said that Kohli would find his form soon and return to his scoring ways.

Syed Kirmani has reacted to the tussle between Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly after the 33-year old was removed from ODI captaincy. While speaking to Republic TV, Syed Kirmani said – “It is important to communicate before taking an important call. But, unfortunately, I think there was a big gap in the communication, and each of them is taking their own decision and not informing the other that’s not the right wat,” he said.

He further spoke about how he worked as the chairman of the selection committee. “I was chairman of the selection committee, and Ganguly was the captain. I used to discuss with my colleagues as co-selectors, and when everybody approved of the player, we selected him. I guess there has been a snag in communication between the selection committee, Virat Kohli and Ganguly, which led to confusion and created all the mess,” he added.

After stepping down as T20I, skipper Virat Kohli wanted to lead India in ODIs and Test format. However, the BCCI sacked him from ODI captaincy.

Sourav disclosed that Virat was urged to continue as T20I skipper, but he refused, a claim denied by Kohli.
