The head coach of Afghanistan and former Proteas all-rounder, Lance Klusener, has spoken in favour of the Taliban.

Afghanistan is in chaos after the country was captured by the Taliban. The extremist group of militants are renowned for its hostile nature and brutally killing of innocent souls.

Afghanistan loves cricket and the national team is due to play in the upcoming T20 World Cup in the UAE.

The head coach of Afghanistan and former Proteas all-rounder, Lance Klusener, has spoken in favour of the Taliban. He is happy with the support he is getting from the group.

The World Cup is about to start and Klusener is all set to face one of the toughest challenges of his career as he looks to lead his team to the title. Since the Taliban takeover, the situation is not good in the country and even the preparations for the World Cup hasn’t been ideal.

“They (the Taliban) are all for promoting and supporting cricket. By all accounts, they’re very happy for us to continue and have been extremely supportive. It’s a huge, huge change for the country, for the people. It’s going to take a little bit of time for everyone to find their feet,” Klusener told AFP.

According to Klusenar, Afghanistan have the best spin attack in the world with the likes of  Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, and Mohammad Nabi in the team.

“We were planning at least a month’s camp (in the UAE) but we are still waiting for visas, so that’s not going to happen. We will try to get there as soon as we can. We’re lucky that quite a few of our guys play in T20 leagues in various places. I think we’ve got the best spin attack in the world. We will be asking questions of any team we play, especially if there is a little bit of turn available,” added Klusener.
