Kumar Sangakkara slammed the Sri Lankan government after its people attacked the peaceful supporters, who were protesting against the ruling party

Team India is blessed with many good batters in the T20 format, and Sanju Samson is one of them. Rohit Sharma recently lauded the player and accepted that India need a batter-like him in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022. And now, Kumar Sangakkara has spoken highly of the 27-year-old.

Samson will be leading Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022 and his impressive performance over the last two seasons saw him make a comeback in the Indian squad for the T20I series against the visiting Sri Lankan team.

During the Clubhouse conversation on Red Bull Cricket, Rajasthan Royals’ Director of Cricket and head coach Sangakkara called Samson a match-winner.

“He is one of the best T20 players. He can win matches single-handedly. I know him very well and admire him. He is a captain who is willing to learn and improve.”

In IPL 2021, Samson scored 484 runs in 14 games at an average of 40.33 and a strike rate of 136.72, including a century and two half-centuries.

In 2020, he scored 375 runs at a strike rate of 158.89 with three half-centuries.

“He is best suited for the captaincy. He is down to earth, and it is good to work with him. All I can do is support him to make him a capable captain,” Sangakkara added.
