Ajay Jadeja said Kuldeep Yadav is India’s No.1 spinner and not R Ashwin or Ravindra Jadeja on pitches that don’t offer much turn.
Kuldeep Yadav picked up eight wickets in the first Test against Bangladesh and was named the Man of the Match for contributing to India’s win by 188 runs.
“Kuldeep Yadav is the no.1 spinner among the top three. He has a lot of skills to trouble the batters. Kuldeep is India’s best spinner on pitches on which there is no help,” he said.
“When there is help for the spinners, you can play other bowlers, but on pitches with no help, Kuldeep has no competition,” he added.
Kuldeep has picked up 34 wickets at an average of 21.55 in eight Tests. His average in away Tests (19.55) is better than his average in home contests (23.81).
