Kolkata Knight Riders went big at the IPL 2026 mini-auction in Abu Dhabi, securing Australia all-rounder Cameron Green for Rs 25.20 crore. The deal set a new mark for the priciest overseas buy at an IPL auction, surpassing the Rs 24.75 crore paid for Mitchell Starc in the IPL 2024 auction. After a disappointing season last year, Green was viewed as an important piece in KKR’s plans going forward.
KKR continued their big spending by signing Sri Lankan pacer Matheesha Pathirana for Rs 18 crore, while New Zealand batter Finn Allen came in at his base price of Rs 2 crore. The team had already confirmed its core from last month, keeping Rinku Singh, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Sunil Narine, Harshit Rana and Varun Chakaravarthy on the retained list.
