Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli looked rusty and out of practice in the first game of the IPL 2024 between Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He scored just 21 runs off 20 balls as the defending champions easily defeated his team. Former player Aakash Chopra said that Kohli will be the main focus when RCB take on Punjab Kings on March 25 at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

With their first home game of the 17th season, RCB hope to win it to open their points account. The franchise fans are backing Virat, captain Faf du Plessis, power-hitter Glenn Maxwell and evergreen Dinesh Karthik.

“I will be focusing on Virat Kohli, who is like a storm and keeping him silent for long is impossible. He played a good stroke against CSK but then got out,” Aakash Chopra said.

Chopra predicted a big performance from the former RCB skipper.

“He will be among the runs against Punjab. I am eager to watch him play,” Chopra added.

Glenn Maxwell needs to do well, says Aakash Chopra

Glenn Maxwell, who has shown form in the last few months, was dismissed without troubling the scorers against CSK. Aakash Chopra said that Maxwell is another player from whom the team needs to run. “He got out on a zero against CSK. He needs to score runs, as Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik can’t score every time. I will also focus on the Aussie all-rounder,” Chopra added.

Punjab Kings will come to the game full of confidence after beating Delhi Capitals in their opening game. PBKS have a better record against RCB, winning 17 matches while losing 14.
