Former cricketer and one of the legends of the game, Andy Flower, has pipped the likes of Daniel Vettori and Gary Kirsten to become the head coach of the Lucknow franchise.
The team from the northern part of India will compete for the first time in the Indian Premier League 2022. Earlier, it was reported that the team officials had shortlisted Flower and Vettori for the job. Kirsten’s name was also doing the rounds, but it seems Flower’s close chemistry with KL Rahul has resulted in his favour.
The 53-year old has worked with the Indian batter during his coaching days with the Punjab based IPL team. Rahul is expected to join the franchise as a captain after leaving Punjab Kings.
