KL Rahul IND vs AUS
Gambhir opined that Rahul doesn't need to prove anything.

Former India opener Gautam Gambhir said that Team India’s player KL Rahul would get disappointed after losing his place in the playing XI to Shubman Gill during the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.

However, Gautam said that ups and downs are part of a cricketer’s life. Gambhir opined that Rahul doesn’t need to prove anything. Rahul is the captain of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Indian Premier League.

The cricketer-turned-mentor suggested KL work on his batting in the upcoming matches.

Speaking to Sports Tak, Gambhir said: “Every player has to go through a rough patch and there is no player who has scored runs consistently throughout his career. It should hurt him when he watches Shubman Gill playing in his place and he haas to carry drinks. He is the captain of the franchise and there is no need for him to prove to anyone.”

“He has scored four or five hundreds in the IPL. But if he is not in the Indian team, he should work on his batting in the upcoming games.”

The right-handed batter scored 38 runs from three innings in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting said India should include KL Rahul and Shubman Gill in the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
