India and Zimbabwe are all set to lock horns in three one-day internationals. The first game will take place on August 18 at the Harare Sports Club.
Zimbabwe recently defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the three-match ODI series. KL Rahul, who didn’t make it to the initial squad, was added after he cleared the fitness test. He was also named the captain, with Shikhar Dhawan demoted to vice-captaincy.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma aren’t a part of the series, considering the upcoming Asia Cup 2022. Rahul and Dhawan are eyeing big milestones in the upcoming series.
Captain KL Rahul needs 7 catches to complete 100, while Shikhar Dhawan is short of 433 runs to complete 11,000 international runs.
If KL adds 366 runs, he will touch the mark of 2000-runs in ODIs. On the other hand, Dhawan will become India’s leading ODI run-scorer in Harare if he hits 202 runs.
