New Zealand continued its impressive run against India in the World Test Championship and won the event by defeating the Virat Kohli-led side to win the second ICC title. Chasing 139 on the Reserve Day, NZ lost two wickets before reaching the target.
While skipper Kane Williamson scored an unbeaten 52, Ross Taylor accumulated 47 not-out. The duo added 96 runs for the third wicket to lead their side to WTC title.
Former Aussie spinner Brad Hogg claimed that Kane Williamson is a better skipper than Virat Kohli at the moment. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Hogg said: “I think Kane Williamson is definitely in front of Virat Kohli at this stage with the way that he conducted himself at this stage. Both teams and captains led their teams very well.”
Earlier, New Zealand and India played two Test matches in the World Test Championship. Kane’s men won both the matches comprehensively.
The members of the Indian side will take a rest for few days before starting their preparations for the upcoming Test series against England.
