Former Australia coach Justin Langer has praised Indian cricketer Virat Kohli for his aggressive playing style and expressed his belief that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treated Kohli unfairly by not allowing him to continue as captain in the One Day International (ODI) format.

Langer, who is currently part of the commentary panel for the ongoing World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 Final between India and Australia, commended Kohli’s passion for the sport. However, he criticized the BCCI for their decision to remove Kohli from the ODI captaincy.

Langer expressed his admiration for Kohli’s aggression and criticized the BCCI for treating him unfairly. Langer firmly stated that he didn’t want to hear any other opinions on the matter and believed that Kohli should have been allowed to continue as the ODI captain out of respect.

In addition, Langer had nothing but positive things to say about Kohli. He praised his aggressive playing style, his passion for the game, and his batting abilities. Langer went on to describe Kohli as an exceptional captain, leaving no room for doubt about his high regard for him.

Kohli was abruptly relieved of his ODI captaincy in December 2021 when Rohit Sharma was appointed as the new captain. Kohli had an exceptional win percentage of 70.43 as a captain in the 50-over format, with 65 wins in 95 matches.
