Josh Hazlewood will miss a couple of games in the Indian Premier League 2023 but is hopeful of playing in the later stage for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The 32-year-old is recovering from an Achilles problem that saw him miss the four Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
Hazlewood is still in Australia and will consult with Cricket Australia’s medical staff before traveling to India for the cash-rich league.
Glenn Maxwell, who missed Australia’s final two ODIs against India, is also doubtful for the opening game of the season.
Maxwell, who broke his leg in a freak accident, is working hard on strength and conditioning in the gym with RCB staff to get fit for the first match against Mumbai Indians.
