James Anderson has said that Joe Root was puking throughout the first Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi..
Around 13-14 members of the visitors were down with virus before the game. The boards were mulling to postpone the opening game by a day but the Englishmen recovered.
Anderson, who took 4 wickets in the second innings, said that Root batted magnificently in the second innings despite being down with a severe illness.
“Rooty was puking up throughout the game. It was not easy for him but he was magnificent with the bat in the second innings,” he said.
“Actually, it was terrible to see so many teammates down with illness. We had no idea about getting 11 fit players for the first Test. A day before the Test, players were not well but most of us recovered before the start,” he added.
Meanwhile, Joe Root slammed 73 off 67 in the second innings with six boundaries to set up a resounding win for his team.
