Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka.
The speedster was added to the squad after recovering from stress reaction but suffered another setback two days before the opening game against the visiting Dasun Shanaka’s side.
“Bumrah, who was set to join the team in Guwahati ahead of the ODI series, will need some more time to build bowling resilience,” the BCCI said in a statement.
“This decision has been taken as a precautionary measure.”
He has been out of action since September 2022 and missed the Asia Cup and the ICC T20 World Cup.
Bumrah is likely to miss the white-ball matches against New Zealand and is doubtful for the opening Test against Australia.
