Bringing all the speculations to rest, India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah on Monday tied the knot with famous sports presenter Sanjana Ganesan in a private wedding ceremony in Goa.
Bumrah’s IPL franchise Mumbai Indians took to its official Twitter handle to share the adorable pictures of the couple.
Captioning the post, MI wrote, “Bumrah bowled over by Sanjana Collision symbol. Here’s wishing love, laughter, and a happily ever after for @Jaspritbumrah93 and @SanjanaGanesan.”
Only a few family members and close friends attended the function due to the rising cases of coronavirus in the country. Notably, the guests were not allowed to take their phones at the wedding venue as the couple wanted to stay away from the limelight.
Earlier this month, Bumrah had pulled out of the fourth and final Test against England in Ahmedabad. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed that the pacer had asked to be released due to “personal reasons”.
“Jasprit Bumrah made a request to BCCI to be released from India’s squad ahead of the fourth Test owing to personal reasons. Accordingly, the fast bowler has been released and he will not be available for selection for the fourth Test,” BCCI said in a press release.
Ever since the 27-year-old was released from the Test squad, speculations over his wedding plans were doing the rounds on social media platforms.
As for Sanjana, the model-cum-presenter had won the Miss India crown in 2014 and was also named as ‘Femina Style Diva’ in 2012.
