Jasprit Bumrah has completed 100 wickets in T20Is. He returned to action after being rested for the three-match ODI series against South Africa. In the first T20I of the series between India and South Africa in Cuttack, Bumrah dismissed Dewald Brevis on the second ball of the 11th over, taking his wicket tally to 100.
Brevis was caught by Suryakumar Yadav after amassing 22 runs from 14 deliveries. He is the second Indian bowler after speedster Arshdeep Singh, to take 100 scalps in the shortest format of the game, and he also became the first Indian to claim at least 100 wickets across formats in international cricket.

After sending back Brevis, Bumrah got rid of Keshav Maharaj on the fifth ball of the 12th over. Maharaj was caught by Jitesh Sharma.
Apart from Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy also picked up two wickets each as South Africa were bowled out for 74 runs, with India registering a win by 101 runs. Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube claimed one wicket each. Hardik, who was playing his first T20I for India since the Asia Cup 2025, managed an unbeaten 59 runs from 28 balls with the help of 6 fours and 4 sixes to take the team to 175/6 in 20 overs. He was named the Player of the Match.
