However, following the end of the game, Carlos Brathwaite had lashed out at England for being disrespectful in their reluctance to shake hands.

The first Test between West Indies and England ended in a draw in Antigua, with Nkrumah Bonner and Jason Holder defying the visitors on the fifth day of the Test.

Playing 70.1 overs, West Indies reached 147/4 before both teams settled for a draw.

Both Bonner and Holder stayed were at the crease for over 35 overs.

However, following the end of the game, Carlos Brathwaite had lashed out at England for being disrespectful in their reluctance to shake hands.

“If I were senior player, I would have found it a bit disrespectful in the last hour,” he had said.

“Would England have done it to Australia, India, New Zealand, or Pakistan? I think the answer is no.”

Holder has now criticized the Joe-Root-led team. “I agree with Carlos. I thought they went on way too long. Joe was well within rights, but they should have shaken hands before. However, I don’t mind,” said the Windies all-rounder further.
