Jammu and Kashmir skipper Paras Dogra has been punished by the Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) for heat-butting Karnataka player KV Aneesh during the final of the Ranji Trophy. Dogra’s action surprised everyone as he was seen head-butting a rival player, who was stationed at silly point. It is not confirmed if Aneesh said something to Paras. Mayank Agarwal, who plays for Karnataka, stood between the two to prevent further escalation.
Agarwal was furious, and he exchanged words with Dogra as the umpires Rohan Pandit and Ulhas Gandhe urged the players to stop the fight.
Karnataka skipper Devdutt Padikkal also had a word with the umpires. Meanwhile, Paras has been fined 50 percent of his match fees, according to Cricbuzz. While the match referee Narayanan Kutty will make the official announcement after the conclusion of the game, hitting a player could lead to sanctions and bans. In this case, the veteran player has escaped any ban.
