On Monday, Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant said that he is looking forward to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The left-handed batter is happy to link up with head coach Ricky Ponting once again, saying the former Aussie cricketer is like a family member.
Rishabh Pant said Ponting brings energy to the field, and the youngsters in the side look up to him for suggestions.
With Ponting as the coach, Delhi have performed exceptionally well in the cash-rich league.
“It is special to meet him as he is like a family member. He brings the energy to keep the players motivated whenever he joins the team. Everyone looks up to him for suggestions. So everyone is looking positive after meeting him,” Pant told the Delhi Capitals after his first training session with the team.
Capitals have not retained Shreyas Iyer, Marcus Stoinis, Kagiso Rabada, and R Ashwin. They have added David Warner, Shardul Thakur, Lungi Ngidi, Rovman Powell, Mustafizur Rahman, Mitchell Marsh and Yash Dhull for IPL 2022.
“We had a good session, and all the new players are in a positive frame of mind. We are enjoying the conditions in Mumbai.”
