Former India player Gautam Gambhir feels he should have been a part of the 2007 ODI World Cup squad in the West Indies.
The opener had thought at that time that his dream to play in a World Cup was over.
Gambhir was given a chance in the 2011 World Cup and scored 97 in the final to lead the Men in Blue to win against Sri Lanka.
“The 2011 World Cup win was the most important one of my career. It was wrong to leave me out of the 2007 event. I don’t know why that call was taken,” he told RevSportz.
Gautam said that he always played for the country and not for records.
“I always played for India and not records. I always tried to make Indians proud.”
