The former India opener has opened up on one embarrassing moment of his playing career where he left ashamed of himself. Gambhir recalled one incident from the 2014 IPL, where he scored three consecutive ducks and had asked Manish Pandey to open the innings in the fourth game.
“I recall experiencing pressure back in 2014 when I was the captain of Kolkata Knight Riders and got three ducks in a row. I decided to send Manish Pandey to open the innings in the fourth match and batted at No. 3 myself. This was because I was scared at the time. I am not afraid to admit that I was ashamed of myself back then.”
” Manish was out without scoring, and I got out for 1. I told Manish I would never again do this and decided to take things head-on.”
