Former Pakistan players are having a tough time after Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan scripted history in T20 cricket.
They stitched an unbroken partnership of 203 runs in the second match, leading Pakistan to a 10-wicket win over England.
While Babar roared back to form with an emphatic 110 runs, Rizwan amassed 88 runs. Earlier, Wasim Akram, Shoaib Akhtar and many other Pakistan legends had questioned the captain’s and vice-captain’s intent and approach.
Some even suggested changing their batting order with Fakhar Zaman opening the batting with one of them.
Pakistan’s bowling spearhead Shaheen Afridi, who is currently in the UK for the treatment of his knee injury ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup, took to social media to mock the legendary players.
“I think it is time to get rid of Kaptaan @babarazam258 and @iMRizwanPak. Itne selfish players. Agar sahi se khelte to match 15 overs me finish ho jana chahye tha. Ye akhri over tak le gaye. Let’s make this a movement. Nahi?” he wrote.
“Absolutely proud of this amazing Pakistani team,” he added.
